Deer in Nara

They are considered heavenly animals and roam freely throughout the town. There are thousands of these guys and they’ve learnt to bow to you, if they know you have cookies to feed them. They’ve cut their antlers, because they tend to head-butt you if you don’t give them crackers


Kiyomizu-Dera (Buddhist Temple) Eastern Kyoto

Founded in 778A.D, rebuilt in 1633 as a shrine to the Buddhist god of mercy and benevolence. There is not a single nail used in the main building.
